Employment in J-1 Status
Students holding the J-1 visa may not be employed without written permission of the Responsible Officer (R. Sytsma) or Alternate Responsible Officer (I. De Moor).
Employment can be authorized by the RO or ARO for:
. Employment pursuant to the terms of a scholarship, fellowship, or
assistantship
. On-campus employment (including preaching in CRC churches)
. Off-campus employment which is necessary because of serious, urgent,
and unforeseen economic circumstances, that have arisen since acquiring
exchange visitor status
. Academic training (e.g. formation for ministry training).
