CONFERENCE
Space, Time and Sacraments
Seminar with N.T. Wright
Bishop of Durham, Church of England
9:30 a.m. - 2:45 p.m.
Saturday, January 6, 2007
Calvin College Chapel
3201 Burton SE
Grand Rapids, MI 49546
In this day-long seminar Wright will look at the sacraments of the church, the Lord's Supper and Baptism, discussing the larger questions of space, time and matter within which our understanding of sacraments must be located. Christians assume some view of these things which then 'invisibly' colors their approach to the sacraments - we will get a biblical handle on the larger questions to appreciate the sacraments for what they are.

N.T. Wright is the author of numerous books including:
This volume is for anyone who wants to travel beyond the controversies that can obscure what the Christian faith really stands for; this simple book is the perfect vehicle for that journey.
The Lord and His Prayer is a beautiful and lyric examination of The Lord's Prayer in which Wright brings alive with fresh language and vibrant imagery familiar concepts such as God's kingdom and the evil from which we need deliverance.
For those who have studied nearly everything about Jesus, this book reinvigorates the quest to know Jesus more fully and join in shaping the world as his disciple.
Making use of his true scholar's understanding, yet writing in an approachable and anecdotal style, Wright captures the immediacy of Matthew's gospel in a way few writers have.
For all God's Worth concisely reminds us of the most basic dynamics of Christian worship and ultimately connects that time spent in worship with displaying God's image in the wider world the rest of the week
