There are three deeply held commitments which impact Jeffrey Weima's teaching at Calvin Theological Seminary. First and most important of these is his commitment to Jesus Christ, and his deeply held belief that Christ has called him to this teaching ministry. Therefore, he regards his position as a divine calling. Second is Jeff's commitment to the historic Reformed faith; and third, his commitment to the Christian Reformed Church. Jeff's teaching has taken him all over the world. He has taught courses in Hungary, South Korea, Kenya, Taiwan and The Philippines. Jeff also is an active member of several academic societies, lectures overseas, leads biblical study tours, and preaches widely in the Christian Reformed Church. At Calvin Theological Seminary, Jeff Weima teaches New Testament.
"The ultimate goal of my teaching and academic research is to support this ongoing, worldwide ministry by providing the church with men and women who are equipped to give Christ-centered, scripturally based leadership."
Jeffrey Weima is the author of numerous scholarly articles and book reviews. He has published two books (Neglected Endings: The Significance of the Pauline Letter Closings; An Annotated Bibliography of 1 and 2 Thessalonians) and is currently writing a commentary on 1 and 2 Thessalonians.
