James Oosterhouse

Plant Director

James (Jim) Oosterhouse has worked on Calvin's campus for 21 years. He worked at the college for 13 years, and is in his eighth year at the seminary. Jim is the Plant Director, which means that he is responsible for all buildings that are connected with the seminary. This includes 101 apartments and the parsonage which is the home of the seminary president. Jim oversees a team of students who do the cleaning and Jim's job is to ensure that the cleaning, and everything else that happens at the seminary, runs smoothly.

Jim is married to Johanna and they have four grown children who are all married and living in Michigan. They have nine grandchildren. Jim loves sports - his first word was 'ball'! His favorite pastimes are golfing with his son, and taking weekend trips with his wife.
