Jim Lakin

Facility Manager

Jim Lakin is a new arrival to Calvin Seminary, assuming the role of Facility Manager starting April 27, 2008. Jim brings with him 30 plus years of building experience, with more than 20 of those years in management; he will be responsible for all the buildings and grounds; including 101 apartments and the parsonage; ensuring that everything is available and operating properly for building occupants to do their work; it is all about the quality of life within the facility.

Jim and wife Dawn have been married for 32 years and have 2 children, Jake is 25 who has been in the Coast Guard for the last 6 years, and presently stationed in Coos Bay, Oregon. Amy 21 graduated from Cornerstone University May of 2008 with a BA in Social Work.

Jim (and Dawn) are very active in a church they helped start 14 years ago; Flat River Ministries is located in Belding, MI; FRM has a teen center called the "Warehouse", that has 50+ Jr High students every Friday night and have seen numbers as high as 40+ Sr. High students on Saturday nights.

Jim loves the outdoors; fishing, hunting, hiking; reading and studying the Bible, working with his hands and throwing a ball to his 70 lb. Border Collie, “Sam”. Jim and Dawn love to travel and see new parts of the United States and the world.
