Richard J Eppinga feels blessed to have been born into a Christian family, growing up in parsonages in Dearborn, MI, and Grand Rapids, MI. He received Christian schooling from first grade through Calvin College. He then earned his Ph.D. degree in international relations and went on to service in Christian higher education and administration. Dick began his work at Calvin Theological Seminary in 1991 as Assistant to the President for Advancement and has continued since 2002 as Senior Development Officer. Richard has concluded seventeen years of full-time service with Calvin Seminary, and now feels blessed to continue his work, serving part-time as Senior Development Officer. Here is what he says about his work:
"I've been privileged to raise prayers and gifts, caring and involvement for Calvin Theological Seminary. I ask people to support the seminary, just as my wife and I support it; and that's all I have to do. What happens next is up to them and God. I feel like Lou Gehrig - the luckiest man in the world. All my work is among Christians, I have friends everywhere, and I'm edified by what the Lord is doing through the seminary, its marvelous faculty and staff and students, and its friends."
Dick is married to Judy and they dote on nephews, nieces, and "covenant children."
He enjoys boating, fishing, and target shooting. He and Judy also love animals - especially dogs.
